ABOUT ME

Meet Gary A. Swenson, JD, MA, IAAP

I am a Jungian analyst, psychotherapist, and depth coach in private practice in northern Vermont. My academic credentials include a JD and MBA from the University of Washington, an MS in Telecommunications from Southern Methodist University, and an MA in Counseling Psychology from Union Institute and University. In August 2023, I earned a Diploma in Analytical Psychology from the C.G. Jung Institute of New England, and I am a certified Jungian Analyst with the International Association of Analytical Psychology. Additionally, I am certified as a Psychoanalyst by the State of Vermont.

Before transitioning to psychotherapy, I built a diverse career as a corporate attorney, business executive, Coast Guard officer, and CPA. This extensive life and professional experience equips me with a deep understanding of a wide range of human experiences—both triumphs and struggles—enriching the support I offer my clients. I specialize in helping individuals explore the obstacles preventing them from living more fully.

Since 2012, I have been practicing as a psychotherapist, working exclusively with adults. My practice integrates Jungian therapeutic and analytical techniques to address complex issues such as depression, anxiety, mid-life crises, feelings of meaninglessness, life transitions, fears surrounding death and aging, and relationship challenges.
